Welcome to the Montevallo family! We are excited to meet you at Orientation! All new UM students must attend an Orientation session in order to register for their classes. We have three goals for your Orientation day:
- To answer all of your questions
- To assist you as you select and register for your classes, and;
- For you to leave excited to return for your first semester at UM!
2024 Spring Semester Orientation
For all new students beginning school in January 2024
There are two Orientation dates available for students starting school in the Spring Semester: December 7, 2023 and January 5, 2024. Registration for Spring Semester Orientation is now open.

2024 Freshman Orientation
For all new freshman students beginning school in August 2024
Freshman Orientation sessions are held in April, June, and July. This year’s Freshman Orientation dates are as follows: April 19, 2024; April 25, 2024; April 26, 2024; June 7, 2024; June 27, 2024; June 28, 2024; and July 26, 2024. Registration for Freshman Orientation will open in February.
2024 Transfer Orientation
For all new transfer students beginning school in August 2024
Transfer Orientation sessions are held in June and July. This year’s Transfer Orientation dates are as follows: June 6, 2024 and July 25, 2024. Registration for Transfer Orientation will open in February.
